“Traveling to New York from South Carolina to play the Singer Songwriter Sessions this summer at The Bitter End has been an experience I won’t soon forget. Standing on the same stage where Bob Dylan performed, well no words can describe that. Thank you to all who made the trip and the experience possible! You know who you are.” Dylan Kittrell
MyBrother MySister is an Indie/pop grunge band from Columbia, South Carolina, formed by singer/songwriter Dylan Kittrell (vocals, guitar) and Jenni Scott (drums) in April 2013 when the two were just 14 and 13, respectively. Zoӫ Murrie (14) joined the band in October 2013 as bassist. The name of the band is a homage to Dylan’s sister who died in 2006.
Seasoned local musicians such as Coma Cinema and many others have supported MyBrother MySister’s passion for performing live by including them in their shows at a variety of venues around the Southeast. They have performed live on the local college radio station several times and participated in many fundraising concerts in their community. They are consistently being recognized in local newspapers and music publications. While of course there are many influences by famous musicians such as Nirvana and the like, local music has been the staple of their inspiration.
In 2014, MyBrother MySister went into the recording study to begin work on an EP at Archer Avenue Studios in Columbia, South Carolina. They completed three songs and are on track to complete recording of two more by the end of summer. An EP release show is scheduled for November at New Brookland Tavern.
