He hails his first Singer Songwriter Sessions show at The Bitter End as one of the highlights of his performing life so far.
“It was the first time I’d played in NYC and also my first gig outside England, so I was pretty nervous but the intimacy and appreciation shown by Larry and the crowd made me feel right at home. I’m honoured to be invited back and I can’t wait to play there again.”
22 year old London-born singer-songwriter Fabian Belassie is rapidly becoming a name to watch out for. His reputation as a compelling performer has grown through regular appearances at open mic nights, acoustic shows and festivals around the north-west of England, where he has been at University for the last 3 years.
Inspired by the rich music heritage of the area – The Beatles, The Smiths, Stone Roses, Joy Division, New Order, Elbow as well as contemporary RnB and pop – Fabian writes from the heart about love, loss, longing and, most of all, hope. Whether playing piano or acoustic guitar, his rich, emotive voice is the glue that brings it all together.
Fabian has supported up-and-coming UK singers Lucy Rose and Billy Lockett and is due to embark on a 20-date University tour this autumn.
